Raphael and the Definition of Beauty

Curated by Elisa Byington and the production of Base7, the exhibition ‘Raphael and the Definition of Beauty’ anticipates the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Raphael’s death in 2020.

Hosted by the Fiesp Cultural Center of San Paolo, the exhibition presents works by great Renaissance masters from various Italian collections such as the National Gallery of Umbria, the Galleria Borghese and Palazzo Barberini in Rome, the National Museum of Capodimonte in Naples.

Inside the exhibition, a virtual reality station allows the visit of one of the most beautiful villas in Rome, Villa Farnesina, which preserves absolute masterpieces such as the frescoes by Raffaello Sanzio. Through innovative immersive technologies, visitors are transported on a space-time journey inside the Villa. They move within the ‘Loggia of Cupid and Psyche’ and are able to visually witness a historical reconstruction of the changes and renovations that have taken place throughout history.

In collaboration with Round4U, DBW Communication took care of Storytelling, 6K stereoscopic 360° filming, Stitching, 3D Modeling and Software development for Oculus Go devices.
